Character NAME: Glimmer
Canon & MEDIUM: The Hunger Games novel; influenced lightly by the movie
Canon PULL-POINT: As the first several tracker jackers sting her, she is pulled just before her death.
Character AGE: ~17
Character ABILITIES: Growing up in one of the “Career” districts, Glimmer was trained from a young age in the art of survival and strength. She has a strong knowledge of weapons and how to use them, even if she isn’t the most adept at using each and every one of them. District 1 tributes might not be the strongest of the Tributes, but their skill at mindgames is surpassed only by those in the Capitol. This can be seen with how at ease they are when on stage with Caesar, whether it’s Glimmer, Marvel or previous victors Cashmere and Gloss.
Character HISTORY: http://thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/Glimmer
Character PERSONALITY: As a tribute from District 1, Glimmer has a deep-set pride and arrogance first and foremost. As most children from her District, she started training for the Games at a young age. She was trained to win and that is the mindset she carries with her. She knows nothing except winning, strength and mind games. Being faced with an uncertain future, where she doesn’t know what to expect will be devastating to her and it can be assumed that she won’t know how to act and react to begin with.
Glimmer takes physical strength into consideration first and foremost, followed closely by physical attractiveness. Without one or the other, she will deem the person unworthy of associating herself with (especially if their strength or skills are lacking, as that would prove to be a poor alliance). She is very, very judgmental and isn’t exactly subtle about it either. She’s like one of those mean girls in High School, with the physical strength and mental cunning to back it up. She’ll stick close to those she believes she holds a higher chance of surviving with, and has no problem with manipulating them to get what she needs.
Despite it all, however, she’s still a teenage girl. She is capable of infatuation, even if she doesn’t know exactly how to deal with it. She’s flirtatious and knows how to use her looks to get what she wants. After all, that was the angle her mentor was going for to get her sponsors. She may come off as vapid, but it cannot be ignored that she was bred to win and that is what makes her all the more dangerous. She grabbed the bow and arrows from the Cornucopia for a reason, even though she is not the most skilled with them.
Glimmer became close with the other Career tributes during training and the beginning of the Games, as their alliance was a surefire way to keep her alive longer than going solo would have. Marvel, Cato and Clove were the only people in the Games that she trusted, and even then it wasn’t that much. They were, however, the only ones she let her guard down around and it may be assumed that she was more of herself (as much as one can be themselves in the arena) than around them than anyone else. Around the other tributes, Glimmer is merciless and taunting. Killing the District 8 girl was a thrill and chasing down Katniss? A blast, especially as she taunted the District 12 tribute. She can easily come off as snarky, sarcastic and downright rude to those she doesn’t particularly care for.
Coming from right before her death, Glimmer will suffer greatly from traumatic nightmares and perhaps a few more minor PTSD symptoms.
» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: Glimmer will not be choosing a bow and arrow, that’s for sure. Instead, she’ll opt for a double bladed staff of some sort.
Chosen SKILLSET: Fighter. Oh goodness gracious is she a fighter, it’s what she’s been trained to do.

First PERSON:
It’s just another game, isn’t it?
[The feed flickers from voice to video to show this blonde bombshell of a teenager smirking at her audience. Despite her outward confidence, there are small ticks that are mostly unnoticeable. (For starters: the fact that she's trying very hard not to look at herself in the feedback.) She’s anxious and not quite as comfortable with this as she’s playing herself to be. But there's no reason for anyone to be aware of this.... no reason to make herself seem weak in a place full of fighters.]
No big deal.... I can do games. Is there anyone else from Panem here, or will I have to play nice and make new friends?
Third PERSON:
Glimmer was still jittery, despite it all. The medics said they’d taken care of the tracker jacker venom, but she was sure there was still some in her system. She had no reason, otherwise, to be so anxious. So off. She could feel her hands shaking, but she was too scared to look down. The last time she looked down, they had been swollen from the stings, which only made her even more scared about how her face must look.
They assured her it was fine, that it was back to how it should be. But she didn’t believe them. Why should she? It was like The Capitol all over again, there were magical cures for whatever they wanted, but it was only because they expected something in return. These people were hardly different. They wanted her to fight, just like The Capitol had. It was hardly in the same way, she wasn’t put in an arena with 23 other teens. But she would still be expected to fight, to kill. That’s all she was good for anyways... all she knew how to do.
Her hands still shaking, she took her chosen weapon as firmly as she could. It wasn’t anything she’d been trained with extensively, but at least it wasn’t a bow and arrows. She could learn more about this weapon, become more well rounded. Maybe they’d let her train with every weapon in the room eventually. First, she would have to stop jerking around at every small sound. Whipping around with the double bladed spear in hand, her eyes wide with apprehension, and perhaps a bit crazed looking, it only took a moment for the fallen tribute to realize that yes, she was still alone.
» ADDITIONAL NOTES
Upon arrival, she’ll be suffering multiple tracker jacker wounds as a result of where she was pulled from. She’ll need to be treated for the venom, but given the advanced medicine, that shouldn’t be a problem. The venom will be causing her to hallucinate and swell and all sorts of beautiful things.
